Dear Parent's/Guardians and Students,

I would like to take this opportunity to once again welcome you and your child to 6th grade ELA at I.S.234. I am confident that this will be an extremely productive school year. My goal is to ensure that students are engaged, supported and challenged. The purpose of this course is to motivate and encourage students to be competent, confident, and enthusiastic: readers, writers, listeners, and speakers as well as to provide them with the skills to do so. I strongly believe parents/guardians that we must work together and I welcome any assistance that you may be able to offer during the course of the year. 

Attendance, Punctuality, Cooperation, Effort and Preparedness are crucial factors for every students success. Please make sure that students attend school everyday, on time, and equipped with the necessary supplies/materials to work.
