• Model UN is a program where the students discuss issues involving the United Nations. Students prepare to go to the United Nations in Manhattan for a mock conference. Prior to the conference students research their assigned country and topic, write papers, practice public speaking and create resolutions. During the conference students will play the role of actual delegates and representatives of the United Nations and work along with other mock delegates from the tri-state area, other states, as well as other countries, in the hopes of creating a complete resolution to their problem that will presented to the “Untied Nations.” In the past debated issues have been global warming, women’s rights, infectious diseases, poverty and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
