    Dear Cunningham Families,

I would like to thank you for all of the well wishes that I have received for our entire staff. Every member of our faculty is
preparing for a smooth transition to ‘Remote Learning.’ Please know that I am aware of the difficulties this situation
presents for all members of our school community. Continuity of instruction is a priority for us, so please rest assured
that we are continuing to adhere to our planned curriculum and teachers are available during regular school hours to
work with students and address concerns you may have.

I realize that managing technological devices can be a challenge. To quote Chancellor Carranza, “These are unchartered
waters,” and as such, our school community will be exercising flexibility for our students. We ask for your patience at
this time as we are all facing this together! The teachers, paraprofessionals, and administration have been working
diligently to ‘iron out the kinks’ as we move along; however, we do realize that until we are ‘up and running,’ we cannot
truly assess any pockets of concern. At this moment, we do not know the duration of this event, so we need to be
prepared until April 20, 2020 and possibly beyond.

Please check your emails, the teacher webpages, and the Cunningham website, www.IS234.com, frequently.
Google Classroom has been a staple of Cunningham’s instruction and we will continue to utilize Google Classroom to
post assignments and provide feedback for student work. The teachers will communicate their expectations for learning
through their webpages with a direct link to Google Classroom. Students are asked to follow their regular schedule, to
the best of their ability, as they log in. For example, if class 704 has mathematics period 1 with Ms. J on Monday, this
should be the first class that they log into on Monday morning. We aim to maintain a semblance of normalcy for
students and staff at this time, but please understand that we will be flexible to meet the needs of our individual
families. We understand that some families may have limited technological capacity for multiple family members to be
working online at the same time, so teachers will work with your schedule and give students a window of time to submit
assignments. As per Chancellor Carranza, ‘Remote Learning’ will be begin on Monday, March 23, 2020.

I will keep you updated with any changes and pass on all new information as quickly as possible, but in the interim,
please make sure to check the DOE’s infohub, https://infohub.nyced.org/, for the latest information.

Our Cunningham family is strong and we will continue to support one another through this unprecedented time. Thank
you for your patience, understanding, and commitment to our community.

Wishing you and your families well,

    Tami Flynn
